The UK Government automatically enroll's all our employees with NEST a workplace pension scheme after 3 months of service, this will automatically deduct 5% of your pay each month, as your employer we will add an additional 3% to the pot (providing you earn more than £520/mth), this is then available when you reach state pension age if you are a UK resident at that age. If you would prefer the 5% still in your pay packet each month or do not plan to be a UK resident at 70+ years of age you can opt-out of the pension scheme by selecting above. Unfortunately these deductions and all your workplace pension information is completely handled automatically by NEST - nestpensions.org.uk, and so any payments paid before opt-ing out cannot be claimed back via your employer.
